Friday

A friend of mine recently was going through some tough times.

Tough times require a little cheering up.
Cheering up requires a little creativity and love.

It doesn't take much to show someone you care.

Here's what I used.

Yellow gifts to cheer up a friend @michellepaigeblogs.com
Supplies:

-1 pink plastic mini crate from Target dollar bin.
-1 bag of mini lemons.
-1 box of Crystal Light Lemonade mix.
-1 Bath & Body Works Kitchen Lemon soap.
-1 Lemons to Lemonade tag
-pink ribbon (tie around soap and tag)
-yellow wired ribbon (tie around the cellophane)
-cellophane

I printed the tags on photo paper and added some pink ribbon.

Once all the lemon things are inside the crate,
wrap in cellophane and tie up with ribbon.

Deliver to your friend...
or in my case, leave it on her doorstep!
A bit of joy and a small smile, helps to ease the pain a bit.

Here's another 'cheer up' idea I've seen around...
A Bit of Sunshine!
Yellow gifts to cheer up a friend@michellepaigeblogs.com

Package up a goodie bag of all things yellow.
Somehow yellow things seem to make everything brighter!

This was created for a tween in mind...
I used yellow gum, pencils, balloons, headbands, fingernail polish, ducky necklace, soap, caramel corn, Snapple drink, sunglasses, ribbon and a 'Bee Happy' print all stuffed in a yellow gift sack.

Stick a Sunshine tag on a yellow craft stick and tape inside the bag.

May YOU have a bright and sunny day--
no matter what the weather!
Take care, friends.

Here's some of my favorite 'uplifting' scriptures:

Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 3:3-6
But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the LORD with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill. I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people. Who have set themselves against me all around.

Thursday

Happy Valentine's Day!

I don't know about your breakfast this Valentine morning,
but this was ours.

Valentine's Day Breakfast
-scrambled eggs with sprinkles
(one must always have sprinkles on Valentine's Day!)
-cantaloupe in heart shapes
-toast in heart shapes
-Yoo-Hoo drink

Who knew that some little chocolate drink
would cause so much excitement?

My kids went crazy!

Apparently it's the little things...

Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Tuesday

Isn't it hard to find valentines that 'a-peel' to your child?
I don't know about you,
but I've got a 'picky' one over here.
She doesn't want valentines to be too 'mushy' or too sub'lime'.
Well, I think I finally found some valentines with
just the right amount of 'zest'.
I don't know if they hold the 'kiwi' to her heart,
but she did approve.

So 'citrus' right down and see our Fruity Valentines.

Fruit snacks and scratch-n-sniff fruity stickers
make these valentines full of 'juice'.

Print out this fruity card onto photo paper or card stock.
Click on this link.

Hole punch through the card, stickers and the fruit snack package.
Tie up using curling ribbon.

(You could always leave out the fruit snacks if sweets aren't allowed at your child's school.)

Write on the To and From lines using a Sharpie marker.

So....what do you think?
Do you think they're all 'ripe'?

Sorry about all the puns...once I get going, you never know where I'll 'rind' up!

.

Monday

Come see our Valentine Love Letter Party!

Lots of love notes at this party celebrating my dad's birthday
and Valentine's Day.

Happy Birthday love letters filled Grandpa's mailbox.

Envelope cookies were at each place setting.

Love letter pies were fun to receive, too!

Of course we had to have LOVE 'letter' cookies!

Our dinner included lasagna, salad, strawberries
and these heart shaped biscuits.

Each biscuit had a message inside.
Click here to see post on how to make these.

And don't forget about a birthday cake.

I made a simple square, 2 layer cake with raspberry filling
and frosted it to look like a package.
The labels are made from white chocolate.

I had to teach my kids what S.W.A.K meant.

In the corner I set up a photobooth!

We love you Grandpa.

Happy Valentine's Day!
