Mini Advent Tree

It's December 1st!

The first day to open that advent and find the chocolate.
The kids have been anxiously waiting for chocolate with breakfast!
I always put up an advent tree on our kitchen counter.

It starts out (straight from the storage box) looking like this.
(Not too great.)

Add in some filler, like...
beads, plastic candy-striped ribbon
and some fabric.

Fabric gets wound around the base.
Tree sits in a tray for easy sliding.
(Sometimes hunting for the correct advent box, requires some moving of the tree--
the tray allows it to be easily moved without tipping over.)

Beads and 'ribbon' are wrapped around the tree.

24 advent 'houses' are filled with kisses and hung on the tree.
(These came from Department 56 years ago.  I tried to order more, but can't find them anywhere!)
We can't get rid of them, because they're the kids favorite!

Also added to the tree are gingerbread and cookie shaped ornaments.

And there you have it---
Our Kitchen Counter Advent Tree!

(Stay tuned for more of our trees.)
