Monday

I'm excited...I have a giveaway today!
Come enter and win a gift for your favorite 6-12 year old girl.

It's a Plusheez!
A Plusheez arrived in the mail a few days ago to try out.

I've never seen one of these before, but apparently they're in the stores at Wal-Mart and Jo-Ann Fabrics.

It's a creative toy + craft and my 12 year old daughter was all over it!  (Personally, I think it's target age is for 6-10 year olds, but some tweens can never get enough stuffed animals?!)

A Plusheez is a plush or pillow that has a built-in craft.  The front of the pillow is made out of a soft, bendable plastic with lots of color-coded slits. Using the colored fabric flowers and the little plastic tool provided (special stylus), you 'poke' the fabric flowers into each slit.

After all the slits are filled, the front of the pillow is full of color and 'plush'ness.

This 'poking' is not difficult to do, in fact, the fabric flowers can be easily taken out of the slits and be re'poked' over and over in different color combinations.  It's fun!

(By the way, the stylus is made of plastic and is not crazy sharp.)
Artsi is the maker of Plusheez.

They also make Stickeez and Glitter Petz.

Click here to see their full line.

Plusheez 'pillows' are in the shape of a heart, or butterfly, owl, fox, kitten and monkey.
Now here's the really fun part...

I get to send a Plusheez to one of you!
If you're the winner, you get to choose which Plusheez you want and Artsi will send it directly to your home.
(If you win, you'll have one less Christmas gift to worry about!)
To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment with your email.

Tuesday

I'm sort of embarrassed to admit it, but I'm one of those crazy readers.
You know...the kind that reads a book from start to finish as fast as possible.
Sometimes in one sitting. Sometimes reading in bed until 2am.
Sometimes forgetting that I have a family that needs dinner...

Yep, I just can't put a book down... especially Christian fiction.

So, when I received a copy of Christian author, Marybeth Whalen's new book,
The Guest Book... I had it finished by midnight.
The Guest Book, is a touching story filled with soul-searching characters
dealing with grief, healing and love.
(Not to mention a lovely Carolina beach setting!)

The story is filled with a bit of mystery to keep you reading until the very last page.
Of course I didn't want it to end...
I totally guessed wrong on the ending, too...love that!

Here's the synopsis:
When Macy Dillon was five years old her father encouraged her to draw a picture in the guestbook of a Carolina beach house. The next year, Macy returned to discover a drawing by an unidentified little boy on the facing page. Over the next eleven years the children continue to exchange drawings … until tragedy ends visits to the beach house altogether. During her final trip to Sunset, Macy asks her anonymous friend to draw her one last picture and tells him where to hide the guest book in hopes that one day she will return to find it—and him. Twenty-five years after that first picture, Macy is back at Sunset Beach—this time toting a broken family and a hurting heart. One night, alone by the ocean, Macy asks God to help her find the boy she never forgot, the one whose beautiful pictures touched something deep inside of her. Will she ever find him? And if she does, will the guestbook unite them or merely be the relic of a lost childhood?
