It's a Pineapple Party!
[Disclaimer: It's currently COVID-19 quarantine over here. A perfect time to sit down and finally write some blog posts that never made it to the blog in the last 2 years! Unfortunately, no one is hosting parties at this time- but when 'shelter in place' is over, we're partying BIG TIME!! Hope this past party brings you a little light and fun! Enjoy!]
Need a bright and fun birthday or party theme? Whether it's a birthday party, pool party or even just a gathering, pineapples can pull a party together in no time. Check out these fun pineapple ideas I created for my mom's birthday.

Gather up any fun pineapple trinkets along with some fresh pineapple for the decor. I found pineapple shaped lip gloss at the Dollar Tree and the pineapple coin purse at Michaels. Sunglasses sitting on a fresh pineapple added to the fun. Tip: use a few stick pins in the pineapple to keep the sunglasses in place.

Pineapple paper plates were found at Michaels along with the green and white striped napkins. One wide sheet of green wrapping paper lined the table with yellow mesh ribbon netting draped throughout.
I had yellow metal votives leftover from a different party, so I used these and added green tissue paper inside them to look more like a pineapple. The green letter board was perfect for this popular pineapple quote.
On the bar cart was another letter board with a pineapple umbrella out for display. I thought my turf square looked fun sitting out.
Strips of green and yellow tissue paper decorated the light and added to the festivities. It's the little things.
The pineapple cake was super fun to make and no, the cake was not pineapple flavor! Seriously, who would want pineapple cake for their birthday? No one in our family! The pineapple pinata was found at Target and the pillow was found at Joanns. I wrapped the gifts with yellow and green paper.
I made the cake using a ball shaped pan and then sliced off the bottom to allow it to sit flat. I smushed on yellow frosting using the back of a spoon. Don't look too close...I ran out of my favorite yellow food coloring and the top is a different (more orange) shade. Oh well. For the top, I stuck in a real top from an actual pineapple!
The cake had a chocolate bottom layer, sweet buttercream frosting and a yellow cake top layer. Frosting was a light fluffy vanilla buttercream. Mmmm!
I made the sugar cookies using my favorite recipe. Piping the white icing over the cookies made them go from looking like fat yellow carrots to actual pineapples!
Dinner menu included: kabobs with shrimp, sausage, peppers and pineapple, of course!
Love celebrating you, mom! Happy Birthday!
