Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Cookies

Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Dipped Cookies!

We're getting ready for a Candy Cane Birthday Party around here.
That calls for some baking.
You're not going to believe these cookies!
They have candy cane pudding mix in them!

They're absolutely delicious!

Here's the key:  Use the Toll House Nestle Dark Chocolate Morsels and a box of Candy Cane flavored pudding
JELL-O.

(I found both items at my local grocery store.)

Follow this simple recipe
Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Dipped Cookies
(adapted from this site.)

2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp baking soda3/4 cup butter
3/4 cups brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 (3.4 oz) package Candy Cane Pudding Mix
3/4 cup yellow, white or vanilla cake mix
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 packages (12 oz) Nestle Dark Chocolate Morsels (1 pkg. for dipping.)
1/4 to 1/2 cup crushed candy canes, on top of cookies
Preheat oven to 350. Stir together flour, salt and baking soda and set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars together. Add in pudding package and cake mix and beat until well blended. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth. Add flour mixture slowly until well incorporated. Add in one entire bag of chocolate chips and mix. Scoop out 1" balls onto a greased baking sheet.  Flatten a bit. Bake at 350 for 10 - 12 minutes.

Now, I seriously suggest you purchase some of these amazing cookie dough scoops!

So, so easy.  Works every time, easy for kids, too.  Simply scoop up your dough in the scoop, turn over and pop it out with your thumb!  Great stocking stuffer.
I made these cookies with the blue color sized scoop.  Now I want one in every color/size!

Once cookies are cooled, melt some dark chocolate
(your 2nd bag of dark chocolate chips) and
crush up some candy canes in a ziploc.

Dip the cookies in chocolate and
sprinkle on the crushed candy canes!
Mmmmm!

The Candy Cane pudding mix adds a bit of
peppermint flavor to the dough.
Paired with the crushed candy canes, these cookies are delightful!

Enjoy!
