Powdered Donut Hole Cupcakes

These sweet treats made an appearance at our recent
Cupcake Birthday Party.
Their 'appearance' didn't last long!  Yummy!
The treats are surprisingly easy and quick to whip up.  Take a look.

Supplies

Powdered donuts, mini cupcake liners, paper shreds, melting chocolate, red M&M candies and sprinkles.

I placed paper shreds in the mini cupcake liners to prevent the donut holes from rolling around.
I really thought the donuts would fit perfectly in the liners, but they didn't.
Decorating rolling donuts doesn't work too well...I happen to know.
Paper shreds were the best I could come up with.

Once all the donut holes were 'stable' I was ready to decorate.

I melted this chocolate and placed it in a ziploc.
I am now an official chocolate snob and I don't think I'll ever use any other kind of chocolate.
Someday I'll tell you the story.
(The chocolate candy melts in the ingredients picture were left over from last year.)

Back to work...
I snipped the corner end and started pouring the chocolate over each donut hole.

Next came the sprinkles and a red M&M on the top.

They almost look like scoops of ice cream, don't you think?

  2. These are adorable! You should watch for that edible easter grass next year and keep some on hand for future rolling dessert emergencies. The paper shreds look great but edible could be fun too.
