My Kids are Bloggers?!

With 10 days before school starts, my kids have decided to start their own blog.

I'm not sure why my kids didn't come up with this idea in the beginning of the summer?



They have decided that doing MY craft projects and
letting ME take all the pictures and doing the editing was NO fun for them. 
(Can you believe their thinking?)
Plus, I made the little mistake of showing them how to edit their pictures on PicMonkey...
(Yes, it's a little addicting, I have to admit.)

Anyway...

The name they chose for their blog...

 

Mom Is Blogging...So Are We!

 

AH (Awesome Husband) got a kick out that name.
Me, not so much.
 

Well, now we have 2 more bloggers in the household wanting to use
the computers, the fancy camera, the memory card adapter, the craft supplies, etc. etc.

In fact, one child is reading over my shoulder,
'begging'
to get on the computer as I type this post!
What have I done?

It is quite amazing that they have put this blog together
with very minimal effort from me.

They are not allowing me to edit or make changes to their posts.
(We'll see how long this lasts!  Little do they know I have total control over their blog and computer use.)

This is THEIR blog.  (I have been told this repeatedly.)

 

And just wait until you read their blog posts.
They are VERY serious crafters and writers. 
I guess you could say that I taught them everything they know?
Including the over-abundant use of exclamation marks, multiple periods, spelling errors, etc. etc...

 

And the best part...
they call me their AM (Awesome Mom). 
Is that the sweetest, or what?!
(Wish that 'sweetness' would carry on in the real world, not just the blog world.)

Spring Break is Over

Hi Friends!  Whew! 
What a great Spring Break we had!

Here's just a few of my highlights...

Easter cookie making with my daughter...
(We used this frosting recipe--click here!)

 

A 5 hour car trip to see my parents = a wedding scrapbook made for a friend!
(Yes, I love to scrapbook in the car!  Click here to see how I do it.)

Time spent with the family...

Kids playing with grandparents, cousins and lots of babies!

Easter service with my folks...

Easter desserts made by my sister-in-law...
(Cream puffs and Oreo balls!  Mmmmm!)

Easter egg hunt and even more cousin playtime...

A three day road trip into Montana and back= The Hunger Games book series read.
(Yes, I like to read in the car, too.)

Lots of wildlife spotting from the freeway, big sky,
meals out, date nights and a movie!

Back in Spokane, I slipped away to go shopping at my favorite store...

Can you believe that Hobby Lobby has 4th of July products out?

...maybe it's for Memorial Day, instead...right?

More visiting and playing with cousins and grandparents.
Another road trip back home= lots of overdue hemming and mending.
(Yep, I sew in the car.)

And we even squeezed in a quick visit up to Camano Island in the sun!

...for fort building, of course!

 Today we woke up to the sound of rain...

perfect weather to go back to school and do laundry!

Un'BEAR'able Gift for the Neighbors

Bang! Wham! Drrrrrr! Whizzzzz! Bam!  That's what our neighbors have had to 'put up with' for a week!  Yep, we got a new roof! 

After many leaks, costly repairs, replaced wood shakes and cleanings we finally broke down and had the roof completely re-done with lifetime-guaranteed, composition shingles!

To thank our neighbors for surviving the noise, trucks, workers and the beautiful port-a-potty in front of our house, I put together a little thank you treat for them.

Gummy Bears!

Using very basic supplies, I printed out the thank you note in a Word document, rounded the corners and inked it up a bit.
Next, I glued it down onto brown cardstock, added a bear die cut, and trimmed it up.
Last, I punched a hole in the top and tied it onto the Gummy Bears' package with ribbon.

Here's a close up.  My 'awesome' husband helped with the wording...he is the 'master of pun humor'...unless his dad is around!

I left the little treats on our neighbors' doorsteps.
I must have put them out too early in the day? One neighbor reported that their Gummy Bears melted in the sun!  (Can you believe that Seattle is finally getting some spring weather?! It's beautiful here!)  Oh well, it's the thought that counts, right? I bet that gummy goo still tasted good!

Ahhhhh! A new roof over our heads...a peace of mind...we'll all sleep well tonight!

My Own Little Blog. My Own Little Spot.

For some reason, I've been playing around with the idea of a blog.  There's so many things running through my mind that I think I should write them down and document them before I forget what those things are.  Good things, creative things, spiritual things, crafty things, kid things, etc.  Things that bring me love, peace and joy.  Things I want to visit and revisit.  Whether those things are blog-worthy or not, I don't know.  However, I just sat down and started my own blogspot.  Now, what was it I was going to write about?  Hmmmm.
