Sweet Anniversary Gift

My husband and I just celebrated our 16th Anniversary!

Last year we celebrated our 15th Anniversary with a Greece cruise!
(I know...I'm spoiled!)
This picture was taken in Mykonos, Greece. We loved that place!

The cruise ship treated us well with incredible food and a scrumptious chocolate cake.
(You can't see the tag in the cake, but it says 'Happy Anniversary!')
That was one amazing trip!

This year we celebrated at the Chuckanut Manor Restaurant in Bow, WA.
(A bit different from last year, huh?!)

Yes, it wasn't the Mediterranean, but the restaurant did have a beautiful view of the Puget Sound.
It didn't serve Greek food, but it did have a cruise ship vibe with their all-you-can-eat seafood buffet.
Shrimp, crab, oysters, clams...my favorite!

Here we are very full.
That take out box holds a piece of scrumptious chocolate cake to go!

Anniversary gift with a drink for every year

Back at home, I purchased 16 bottles of my husband's favorite drink:
Lemon Tea Snapple.
(He loves this stuff, but he doesn't get it very often. I can't stand it!)

A drink for every year- Happy Anniversary!

I punched out 16 tags. (One representing each year we've been married.)
On each tag, I wrote the name of a fun trip we took during that year

or a big happening (children being born, moving to Boston, etc.) that occurred in that year.
I tied each tag around a bottle with curling ribbon.

Now each time my husband drinks one of his Snapples, he can 'reminisce' on one of our 16 years together.
(OK, so it's a little cheesy...but hey, you've got to admit it's kind of fun!)
My husband actually requested this same gift next year...
Aw, man...I was hoping for another cruise!

  4. What a nice idea. You have a GREAT memory! I have been married for almost 12 years and I don't know if I could remember all the things we did each year.

I live in Washington too. I am in Skagit County. It is nice to "meet" you!

    Enjoy your weekend!

  7. Hi Michelle, I'm not sure if you are the Michelle Paige I'm looking for...were you at school in South Africa during the 1980's? Was your maiden name Hoon? If yes, send me an email to hilka@icon.co.za.

  8. Love this, I'm going to do this with beers and memories over the years. We have been together 15 years, but our 5 year wedding anniversary is this year. Thanks for the idea!
