Money Balloons to pop!

If you're like me, finding new ways to gift money is not easy!
It always seems a bit dull handing a loved one a card with some money in it that says,
  "Happy Birthday!"

Birthday Balloon Money Gift

Well, today I've got a fun money gift for you to try the next time you want to step up your 'money-giving game'.
Using the included toothpick and earplugs--the recipient opens a box of balloons and has to pop the balloons to find their gift!
Some of the balloons have jokes and other balloons have cash.
You can fill the box with candy and treats too.

A box of balloons with cash!

Here's what you'll need to make your own Balloon Money Gift:

Supplies: (affiliate links included to help you locate products.)

-1 big cardboard box (You could use a very large sack or bag.)
-small balloons (I used these 5" balloons.)
-balloon notes and jokes (Click here to print your own.)
-cash
-1 pair of earplugs
-1 pointed colored toothpick
-balloon air pump (It's possible- but I wouldn't suggest blowing these balloons up with your own air. Having a balloon pump makes it so easy--and they're inexpensive!)
-scotch tape
-scissors
-wrapping paper (I got mine from Target years ago- but here's a cute option.)
-tissue paper (optional)
-curling ribbon
-extra candies or treats to go in box.

Free balloon printables

Directions:
1) Print out the free balloon notes and jokes. Click here.
Trim and use the blank notes to personalize the gift with recipient's name and greeting.

2) Roll or fold up tightly each note and/or dollar bill to fit into the neck of the balloon.
Inflate the balloons using the balloon pump. Don't overfill your balloons--you want them small, so they'll fit in your box better.

3) Line the bottom of the box with tissue paper and any extra treats. (Optional)
Add the inflated balloons in the box.
Tape any extra notes or jokes to the inflated balloons. Close box- tape shut.

4) Use coordinating wrapping paper to wrap box and tie with curling ribbon.
Squish a pair of ear plugs in a balloon and inflate. Tape that balloon on top of the package.
Tape 1-2 pointed toothpicks to the Happy Birthday note and attach to the package.

Have a girlfriend turning 50? Need a gift to give her?
Here's a fun idea to celebrate 50 years with 50 affirmations of who God says she is.
Now this is the way to celebrate a big birthday!
(You could also make this work for a friend with a 20th, 25th, 30th or even a 40th birthday. Keep reading to see how.)

We all need to be reminded of the scripture truths of who God says we are...especially when we turn a year older! The Bible is filled with so many affirmations that reveal God's amazing love for us. These are not because of who we are, but because of WHOSE we are. We are His.
We are His creation...created in His image, for a plan and a purpose and for His glory.
When we know and believe these things, we can live with confidence and assurance that we are greatly loved no matter what! No matter what mistakes we've done, choices we've made or issues we're dealing with...WE ARE LOVED! No matter how we feel or how old we are-- we are deeply loved by God.
What better time to remind a friend of this---than on a milestone birthday!
Here's how I put this together.

50 Affirmations of Who God Says I Am @michellepaigeblogs.com

I found a sweet faux floral arrangement at Home Goods that had a foam base in it. The foam base inside the pot allows sticks and skewers to be easily placed into it. Be sure to double check your arrangement and make sure it isn't a solid acrylic block that won't let you add sticks into it. Your arrangement can be any color, but I chose a white one for my friend.

Click here to print out the affirmations and the 50 card. There are actually 55 affirmations in case you want to pick and choose your favorite ones. Trim them all up into rectangles using a paper cutter. Need a good paper cutter? (affiliate linked) I like this one.

(Affiliate links to help you find products.)

Use 50 paper cookie sticks, wooden skewers or plastic treat sticks.
Use the 6", 8" or 12" sticks depending on how tall your arrangement is.
Use 1 longer stick or skewer for the 50 sign (or another milestone #) to place in the middle of the arrangement.

Use a piece of tape to stick each affirmations to the sticks.
Tie on a small piece of ribbon in a simple knot. I found my ribbon at the DollarTree.

Now the fun part...start sticking the affirmation sticks in the floral arrangement-- place them all the way around. Be sure to place the 50 card high above the arrangement in the center.

I gave my friend this gift for her birthday and told her to put the affirmation sticks in a jar (or around her home) after she reads each one. That way she can enjoy the flower arrangement and continue to enjoy reading the affirmation sticks.

Of course if you'd like to give this gift to a 20, 25, 30 or 40 year-old, you definitely could! Just count out the appropriate number of affirmations and change out the large number card.

10. Hand deliver to the new 50-year-old!
This works well for a front porch delivery or as a centerpiece for a 50th party.
I added vinyl 50 numbers to a pumpkin to go with this gift for my cousin. She finally turned 50 this year...I'm a year older!

When I was asked to help create a horse party for a loved 12-year-old girl, I immediately panicked. I know nothing about horses. Well...I've ridden a horse once, does that count? Luckily, party planning requires very little background knowledge.

After a bit of brainstorming on Pinterest and a little time sourcing products on Amazon, I came up with this inexpensive and simple plan. Take a look.

The stars of this show were these awesome horse balloons. I ordered them here. I was amazed at how big they were and how easy they were to inflate with a straw and a little blowing. I taped wooden skewers to the legs of the horse balloon to stand it up in my wooden planter box. It worked perfectly.

I also purchased these horse napkins. When planning parties, it's always fun to find a great themed party plate or napkin for the table. I've planned entire parties around a fun paper napkin.
These napkins tied in the horse theme perfectly. I added solid colored paper plates and cups to go with the blue and green in the napkins.

Turf pieces were leftover from another party and used as chargers. I use them all the time!
Wooden sporks are from here.
My blue and green felt letterboards have been used for so many parties...I love them.

I added these horse cutouts to all the printed signs and sprinkled them on the table!

Now let's talk about the snacks!

Creative tags make ordinary snacks extra fun!

I printed out these tags, (click here) on kraft cardstock and stuck a horse cutout on each one. Small, thin skewers were taped to the back of the tags and tucked into the snacks.
Now take a look at this horse cake made by a local bakery! Wow!
