Candy Pun Letter for College Students

Got candy? Got college kids that need encouragement?
Need some creative, corny puns? I'm your gal.

 
Yes, it's time to send the college kids a little sugar and encouragement that will make them smile. I usually do this around Halloween, since that is when I have an assortment of candy in my house. I try hard not to keep this stuff in my house...why is it so hard not to eat all the chocolate?

This year, I bought a couple of big assortment bags of candy and used the candy names to craft up a letter.
Using free clip art pictures of each piece of candy and inserting them in the Pic Monkey editing program, I created this.

Yes, I'm aware it's corny, but puns are supposed to be.
Yes, the kids think I'm a little crazy, but that doesn't bother me.
Yes, I'm a pun lover--they all know and expect this from me.

I loaded up an 8.5' x 6" mailer with a copy of the letter, the coordinating candies and a few other Halloween goodies. I love to let these kids know I thinking of them and cheering them on. These are heading to the post office today.

'Hand It To You' Winter Gift Idea

Need another quick gift idea for teachers, friends, co-workers...anyone! How about some mittens or gloves stuffed with fun treats? It's quick, fun and will be very appreciated!
Take a look.

Gather up some (affiliate link) mittens or stretch gloves, mini lotions, soaps or these anti-bacterial hand gels. Put any fun treat or hand-related gifts inside the mittens.

Print out the tags on cardstock, click here.

Write a note on the back of the cards, whole punch and tie on using (affiliate link) baker's twine wrapped around the mitten's cuffs. 

Hand deliver to all your people!

Thankful Tree-Themed Tags

Ah, November. The month of gratitude and thankfulness. How can you not love this month?

There is something amazing about saying 'thank you' to someone that actually makes YOU (the giver of the 'thank you') feel so good. That's the power of gratitude. When we give thanks, we take our eyes off ourselves and place it on others. And when we move our thoughts off of ourselves, good things happen. We have a new mindset, a healthy attitude and a selfless heart that brings joy no matter what our circumstances. 

I love to tell people thank you and if I can tell them thanks with a cute little card and treat...even better! Check out these printable thank you tags you can use all season long.
Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter and Christmas.

I love these Reeses's chocolate peanut butter trees candies. Have you seen them in your stores? If not, (affiliate link) click here. These candy trees work perfectly with any of the tags. Just tape a small size onto the back of each tag and hand out to those you want to say 'thanks' to.

You could also use these tags with other candy or chocolates that have a tree printed on the packaging. Look how fun this Andes Mint chocolate bar looks with the Christmas thankful tag. Hole punch tag and tie on with a coordinating ribbon.

These also work well with gifts with leaves printed on them. This is my current favorite smelling hand soap this year from Bath & Body Works....White Coconut Caramel! Oh wow!

Another fun idea is to use this tag on a mini Christmas tree or plant. Hole punch the tag and tie with ribbon directly on the tree. What a fun and festive gift!

Halloween College Care Packages

I'm back on Whitworth University's campus delivering care packages to some special kids. They always love seeing what I come up with. This year's theme was full of corny Halloween puns. I've included all my printables so you can make your own. Take a look.

Cut tags and box flaps.
Glue or tape box flaps to the inside of the flaps on the box. 

I filled the bottom of each box with some Halloween candy and then covered it up with tissue paper.

I then taped the puns to the corresponding treats.

Many of these items were found at the Dollar store, but I tried to include some Amazon affiliate links to help you locate products. 

You're fa'boo'lous!: Ghosts Veggie Chips (use any ghost candy or treat)
Take study breaks, don't let your brain go to mush: Gummies candies
Carve out time to have a ball: Popcorn Ball
Halloween puns are a bit corny: Candy Corn Popcorn (candy corn)
Don't go batty: Bat Shaped Pretzels (any bat candy or treat)
Orange you glad it's almost Halloween: Peeps Pumpkins (any orange candy)
Life is 'gourd' when you have caramel and pumpkin spice in it: Pumpkin Spice Caramels

I'd make a skeleton pun but I don't think you'd find it very humerus: skeleton candy or cut apart this skeleton garland.
'Eye' hope you have a great semester: Eyeball Gumballs (any eyeball candy)

Have a 'fang'tastic semester: Plastic Fangs with Candy Blood
Don't bite more than you can chew unless it's chocolate: any chocolate candy

Load all the treats into the box and cover with a sheet of black or orange tissue paper.
Using spider webbing, cut a small piece of the webbing and stretch it out on top of the tissue paper.

Add plastic spider rings and/or plastic fingers.
I hand wrote sort of... on the box flap that said, 'All treats, no tricks!'

Tape up the box and tie with orange and black ribbon. I added a battery-operated tea light and tied it on top.

Fill out the To and From label and tape it to the box.
Mail or hand-deliver this box of Halloween love.
