Yes, I will admit it.
Valentines can be a little cheesy.
So, why not state the obvious?

Plus...who doesn't like cheese?

Today is the 4th valentine option I gave my son.
(I actually have one more option for tomorrow.)
And then it's time to choose.

Have you been following along this week to see my son's choices?

Most kids like Cheez-It's or cheese sticks.
This could even be a healthy valentine--gasp!  (Extra point for mom!)

Print out cards and trim edges.
Attach to cheese snack with festive washi tape.

You could even trim off the excess card
and tape on a cheese wedge-shaped greeting.

A few of my friends asked for valentines that don't use colored ink.
These work nice with black ink on yellow cardstock.

This valentine could even be attached to a fancy cheese (& wine?) gift for the teacher.

Do you think my son will choose these valentines to hand out to his class?  There's no pink, red, hearts or mushy valentine greeting...

There's also no candy. Hmmm???  Will no candy ruin this valentine?  I guess I could look for candy in the shape of cheese? Stay tuned.

Wednesday

It's a week of Boy Valentines.

Monday I shared: Popping Valentines
Tuesday I shared: Pirate Valentines

and today it's all about toads and frogs!
(It's a bit random, trust me...I know.)

I've asked my blog readers to view my simple valentine creations and try to guess which valentine my 11 year old son will hand out to his class.

Last year I ordered these Sticky Stretchy Frogs from Oriental Trading planning to use them for this FROG Baby Shower.

I never used them for the shower-- way too small, so I kept them thinking I would use them for something...a Valentine, perhaps?

(These little critters are especially fun to be thrown onto windows or any other glass, metal or plastic surfaces.  Just don't put them on the carpet or in someone's hair!  Yuk!)
Creating these are quite simple.
Print out a sheet of
'Toad'ally Hoppin' Valentines.
Trim cards and tape on a sticky frog.
Keep frog in packaging for giving.
(You could use any small frog toy, candy or sticker.)

Did I meet my son's criteria?

No pink,
No mushy greeting,
No girl will think that he likes her more than a friend...
No hearts on this one.

I wonder if  'Hoppy Valentine's Day' is too babyish?
'Toad'ally is kind of cool, isn't it?
Frogs are OK, right?

Do you think he'll choose this one?

He's lucky I didn't use any kissing frog graphic with a
"You're my prince!" greeting!
I've got another option for him tomorrow.

Tuesday

ARRR Matey!

Yesterday, I told you about my son choosing a valentine to hand out to his classmates.  (Click here if you missed that post.)
I asked my blog readers to view the 'mom-crafted' simple valentine options and try to figure out which valentine my son decided to hand out.

Today's Valentine is Option #2.  A Pirate Valentine.

No BONES about it!
Have a GRRREAT Valentine's Day!

There's no mushy greeting, no pink, only 3 tiny red hearts on it--that you can barely see...
(Will I have to 'walk the plank' with the hearts?)
It doesn't say anything about 'Be my Valentine' or 'You're Sweet.'
It's not babyish...is it?

Will it pass the 11 year old boy test?

I found these pirate Skulls and Bones candies at the Dollar Store.

I taped the candies onto the back of the card using
black and white striped washi tape.

If you are making non candy valentines, these cards work perfectly with pirate bone stickers.

The stickers I found were at the Dollar Store around Halloween...sorry...
but I'm sure you can find some pirate stickers out there.

So...do you think my son chose to hand out Pirate Valentines to his classmates?  We'll see.

Come back tomorrow-- I'll be sharing another option to choose from.
